game show congress
I’d like to give better speeches. I’m at a luncheon where they’re honoring game show folks. there are some real luminaries of the genre here, including honoree wink martindale, betsy palmer, rich fields, randy west, don pardo, betty white and many more. it’s really something that these people allow themselves to mingle with their superfans, receive awards, and still stay so humble. I don’t think I’ve met a friendlier group of celebrities than game show folks.
and they give good speeches. they’re thoughtful, they honor others, they tell real stories, and they always thank the people who got them where they are.
if I ever get somewhere, I hope I get asked to make such a speech.
Unfortunately, I’m 17 and broke so I can’t go to GSC, but I plan on making it there eventually. Did you have a good time?
