Rocky Mountain Hi
Hello from Aspen, where the air is thin and natural, and the lips are fat and fake.
I’ve never seen so much plastic surgery, and I live in Hollywood. Maybe I just notice it more here because the altitude puts more air pressure on everything and makes the pockets of silicone and collagen bulge to the surface. Perhaps at sea level these faces look a bit more normal. And in Death Valley, fabulous.
I get tired up here. Don’t know if it’s being back at this height as much as back at this time. Being with family, I admit I can tend to regress.
On my own in my apartment, I don’t sleep til 11, eat chocolate-covered popcorn, fight with my sister, and watch marathons of clip shows on E! (unless i’m in them). Here I do it all and more. It’s strangely comforting in a way, even if I resent myself while doing it.
Soon enough i’ll get up early, go for a hike, make nice with sis, and get on with it all. Of course, there’s still a little more of that popcorn.
