And now, because I love you, the loyal jkeith.net visitor, I will direct you towards free money. Well, it’s actually your money already, but you may not realize it. And, it may not be available to you all. Look, just how loyal are you anyway?
Point is, I checked out the unclaimed property site for California today and I found $186. I know I’m a famous Hollywood type, but I’ll take $186 of my own money any day of the week (How’s Tuesday?).
So… go here. And keep coming back to jkeith.net.
And remember that I love you, you ungrateful bastards.

I’m no Arte Moreno, but when my new checks arrive, I will pretend I’m paying Chone Figgins every time I’m really paying the rent or the rolfer.
I hope Chone doesn’t mind working for a zillion percent pay cut.
You Got Served
Hi, Welcome to the new jkeith.net
Doesn’t look so new? Yeah, I thought not. But here we are on a brand new server, with no more complicated blog address. Just type in jkeith.net and you’re brought right here to the blog page. More noticeable and substantial changes are coming soon, including, um… Colors! Fonts! Forms! And… uh… video?
Look, I hired a designer/expert lady. It’s gonna be awesome. Stay tuned and thanks for forgiving the inevitable glitches and annoyances, like that you may have to re-register to post a comment –which I hope you will.
OK, enjoy the BCS “Championship” Game tonight, and look for the cool J. Keith stuff soon.
Thanks!
Where Credit Is Due
What’s fun sometimes (fun being a relative thing) is to do a Google Image search for arbitrary numbers.
In this case, the arbitrary number is 703, which came to my attention as my FICO score, according to the evil fine people at Experian. It’s kinda right in the middle. I have no debt, which is something I worked hard to achieve, so why isn’t my number higher? The nifty little tool at MyFico.com tells me because I have two collections on my record. Yuck.
One I definitely remember and was stupid to let it get that far. I had completed a marathon in Hawaii in 2001, had to be hospitalized afterwards, and, silly me, allowed myself to be transported by ambulance. That ride cost me $451, the bill of which got mixed up in the dozens of other bills from that unintended stop on my island tour. Anyhow, after all my confusion, the collection agency got it and I paid it off, but apparently the sharks reported it and so there it is.
The other? One for $20. Twenty lousy bucks. And no original creditor is listed. And the collection agency is some gobbledy-gook of letters and numbers. And it’s from 2004-2005. And the balance due is 0.
So I have no idea what I owed or who I owed it to, but I did pay it, apparently. And yet still, it’s on there for another four years or so, keeping me from buying a house.
I want to have a nice FICO score. It’s like trying to do well on the SAT’s all over again. Except there’s a house involved.
I don’t even want to buy a house. I can barely keep up with my rent. Wait, I’m not admitting that. FICO is watching. Just kidding, FICO. It’s all good. Nothing here to see. Nothing at all…

I’m huge in Italy.
If Italy could be measured by one person’s blog. Product integration sounds so much nicer in Italian.
Actually, if you want to learn how a Dutch Jew like me could fit in in Italy, check out this book. Though it’s technically a fictionalized account, the family tree and history of my surname is all true.
Write Off - Right On!
Well, the year is almost over. Looking back, we’ve all undoubtedly been through a lot.
Some people have it worse though. And now just in time for your last tax deduction of 2007, here’s a helpful message from my pal Suzy Nakamura…
Hello my people,
For those of you who don’t know, I work for an organization called Food on Foot. I have volunteered my Sundays for years, helping the homeless and needy in Hollywood, because it’s a program that I believe in. I know we all have our personal causes so if this is something you’re not into, please ignore this plea…
Right now, we have a chance to win a charity contest on Yahoo. Food on Foot is one of 5 finalists for a $50,000 prize, and the charity that receives the highest number of individual donors (not the total amount donated) will win the prize — but I need your help before 9PM ON DECEMBER 31ST!
The minimum donation is $10 (credit card only) and must be made on the following web site: http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/cybergiving2007
Yahoo has agreed to MATCH your donation, so your contribution of $20 will mean $40 for Food on Foot. We only have TWO DAYS to reach our goal, and our biggest competition is a lame charity for a breed of dog I’ve never heard of — it’s a CLOSE RACE which is why I’m reaching out to you…
If you need a quick tax write-off before the end of 2007, please donate today and email all of your friends about our great cause. Please help us continue the dream of giving everyone a job opportunity and a chance to be self-sufficient and off government assistance.
How are you by the way? Have a happy and healthy New Year, and thank you for reading this,
suzy(For more information about our programs please visit:http://www.foodonfoot.org)
I swear this is not a scam. It’s a swell organization and the charity has been supported by Network for Good.
So… won’t you donate and help defeat those stupid dogs? I did!
December Always Has A Day Like Spring
The warmth is everywhere I turn
But soon the night will bring a chill to me
And I can’t help but stare at all the colors in the makeup she wears
It’s getting noisy at this gathering
I’ve never felt so all alone
Staring at the Lennon crooked on the wall
As I go to straighten, I fall in
A field of Strawberries
I feel the winter coming
Quick, run, let’s find some cover
Some things never seem to change with time
I feel the winter coming
I am as lost without you
Running naked through the lonely night
I wipe the mist off from the winshield
Making sure I can see the road
I must have driven through this neighborhood
Half a million times and I never can remember my way
I feel the winter coming
Quick, run, let’s find some cover
Some things never seem to change with time
I feel the winter coming
I am so lost without you
What I’d give to have you by my side
Running naked through the lonely nights
Thankful
Holy Crow, has it been this long since I’ve written?
Well, yes, dummy, obviously.
Sorry, folks!
Aside from the fact that I almost got hit by a city bus (photos to come), it’s been a very good past several days. Plans have been shored up for me to get back to New York and I’ve worked a whole bunch.
I hope to be making more solid/official announcements soon, but I’ll be hosting a pilot for a new TV game show, I already hosted three episodes of a new Internet show that I think will get lots of buzz and maybe even do some good, it’s looking like there will be a return engagement on a fun gig I did earlier this year, the pilot I did that didn’t get picked up now allegedly has some interest from other places, I’ve got 2 new talking head shows on E! coming out in the next few weeks, and, oh I already mentioned the New York thing.
The one thing I can mention for sure is that I’ll be performing in a fun improv show on December 1 with some real heavyweight celebrities… like Fred Willard and Jeff Garlin. It’s a great show that benefits the Museum of Toleranace and even better, it’s Jews vs. Christians. More on that to come.
So there. I’m grateful for all of it, and for your visits to this site. I think I have some photos in my phone that haven’t posted here. I’ll get those up and running soon too.
So how are YOU?
No One Is A-Loan
OK, so the world’s full of war and Britney Spears. You’re feeling overwhelmed. Guess what? It’s easy to do something and you don’t need much money.
KIVA.org is a site where you can make small loans, get paid back, and loan again to people that are getting themselves on their feet all over the world. It’s really cool. Millions of regular folks (like yours truly) loan small amounts and get paid back after a few months, then keep the money going. You choose the amount, the borrower, the cause… it’s all legit and all good. You don’t even have to loan that much –they aggregate loans from a bunch of others and eventually the folks in need get enough to do what they gotta to get by. Anyhow, I hope as we enter this holiday season you’ll check it out.
You can check out my page and the dude I chose, relatively at random, here.
The end.
