Me on Radio - Thursday Night / Friday Morning

I’ll be a guest on the Joey Reynolds Show tonight, Thursday at Midnight on WOR. And it’s syndicated nationally too!

I’ll be plugging away at “What’s My Line? - Live On Stage”… call in and ask me something!

Check it out!

Hey Joe!

jkvsfranklin.jpgHe holds a record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest-running talk show. He’s the King of Nostalgia. He’s a legend. He’s Joe Franklin.

And it seems that I can’t look His Majesty in the eye. In truth, we were trying to be silly here.

And in all seriousness, let me say what a privilege it continues to be to do this show in New York. We’ve only got three more performances left. I hope you’ll come see.

All In The Fa-Mehle

jkvs-mehle-mehle.jpgHere I am seated next to Aileen Mehle. Behind us is Roger Mehle, Ms. Mehle’s son.

They appeared together on “What’s My Line?” on CBS on December 25, 1966. It was quite a surprise Christmas present to Ms. Mehle, aka Suzy Knickerbocker, who was on the panel that night, as Roger has been on a submarine for 2 1/2 months and wasn’t scheduled to return home. Behold the power of “What’s My Line?”.

Mr. Mehle was a guest on our show this week and we hope to have Ms. Mehle on our panel very soon.

“What’s My Line? - Live On Stage” #80 - April 28, 2008

This was supposed to be our last show, but with a show like tonight, you want to keep riding the momentum and I’m glad we’ll have the chance to do so straight through May. It was wonderful having a vet like Andy on the panel –he now has the record for most appearances on our show. And the rookies were a surprising lot that kept me on my toes.

Photos, links, & more details to come…

Pretty Pretty Panel

collage4.jpgHere are the fabulous folks who are scheduled to be the panelists on “What’s My Line? - Live On Stage” on April 28. It’s Jarrod Emick, Jackie Hoffman, Julie Alexandria, and Andy Zax.

Andy has been on our panel in Los Angeles about 15 times. Julie and I worked together on a pilot for A&E last January. Jackie I’ve never met but is hilarious. Jarrod won a Tony, for Pete’s sake.

You really should be there.

That Touch of Mink

How wonderful life is that it contains evenings that I spend on stage with Mink Stole.

The fabulous Miss Mink was a panelist on “What’s My Line? - Live On Stage” in Los Angeles many times, then she moved back to her hometown of Baltimore and I thought that was the end of our enchanted time together. Then, when I brought the show to New York, I remembered something I learned in my schooling… New York is closer to Baltimore than is Los Angeles!

One train ride later, and Mink was on our panel again, classing up the joint and being the shark-like panelist she is with her blazing wit and killer instinct. If you missed it, you will be in good stead to catch her should she be so kind to join us again.

Star Crossed

Whenever a celebrity Mystery Guest appears on “What’s My Line? - Live On Stage,” it’s an exciting moment for everybody.

People respond to excitement in different ways. Some, like comedian/writer/actor David Cross, become so overwhelmed by the experience that they become paralyzed with awe. And I have no choice but to respond in kind.

Or he could just be goofing around.
